Prenuptials getting personal

They are not just for the rich and famous anymore, no, no -- prenuptial agreements are being found in more and more marriages these days, and their clauses are getting quite personal. Florida residents are probably familiar with the child custody clauses and have most likely even seen the cheating clause, but there are some new stipulations about significant others' lives that can dictate everything down to the color of the shirt you're not allowed to wear.

Ex-wide receiver Chad Johnson and now ex-wife Evelyn Lozada split

Going through a divorce in Florida and elsewhere is rarely an easy thing to do. There are so many emotions and legal decisions that have to be dealt with that it can undoubtedly be overwhelming at times. Yet, as difficult as going through a divorce is, going through one after a domestic violence dispute is perhaps even harder. Briefly a Miami Dolphin, Chad Johnson is now saying goodbye to another large part of his life: his wife.

Insurance matters merit strong focus in many divorces

With divorce, some of the most confounding problems may not be the product of a stubborn spouse. Even after you've reached resolutions regarding child custody, child support, property division and other sticking points commonly faced in the divorce settlement process, you may still be facing the issue of resolving your insurance situation.

Unique concerns confront many military families, marriages

Although it is hard to pinpoint precisely the number of military service members in Florida who are either serving within the state or on deployment elsewhere, it is a certainty that the bottom line is impressively high. Army, Navy, Marine and Air Force installations dot the state from north to south, and reliable estimates say that there are about 51,000 active duty members. Coupled with at least that amount of reservists from the various branches, the overall total is posited at more than 100,000 soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen.

Many remarrying divorcees opt for postmarital agreements

Most people, especially in our day and age of media-driven celebrity tales of marital discord and divorce, are arguably familiar with the basics of a prenuptial agreement -- what it entails, why it is written and when it is executed.

What constitutes "good" grandparenting during a divorce?

Divorce is seldom easy on anyone, including grandparents. It is natural for grandparents to be anxious about visitation with their grandchildren and other matters when their adult children divorce. However, legal rights for grandparents are certainly not the first thing that comes to mind in a divorce. A future relationship with the grandkids often depends on how grandpa and grandma handle the separation and divorce.
