Although she stated more than a year ago that she was divorcing her partner, actor Ashton Kutcher, actress Demi Moore never got around to filing divorce papers.
Kutcher took care of that last Friday by filing a divorce petition citing irreconcilable differences in Los Angeles Superior Court.
Anyone why actively follows celebrity-related news, as well as persons with slightly more than remote interest in it, has undoubtedly been on the receiving end the past several months of media outpourings regarding the couple and their troubled marriage. Moore and Kutcher married in 2005, sometime after Moore’s divorce from actor Bruce Willis. They endured as a couple for about seven years, but separated last year following reports that Kutcher had been seeing another woman.
Notwithstanding Moore’s declaration last year that she would be filing for divorce, she never did, and media commentators openly speculated that the couple was embroiled in matters regarding property division. As with many celebrity marriages, there was substantial conjecture over whether Moore and Kutcher signed a prenuptial agreement before they wed.
That is still not known with certainty. Kutcher’s filing makes no mention of such a document, nor does it list a separation date.
There are no issues concerning child custody or child support in the divorce, given that the couple never had any children. Moore has three daughters from her marriage with Willis.
Kutcher has had the more high-prolife life and career since the couple split. He is currently starring in the television sitcom “Two and a Half Men” and is dating actress Mila Kunis.
